Jay Furman was a Republican candidate for U.S. House in Texas' 35th Congressional District in 2026; he lost the Republican primary on March 3, 2026. He is a retired U.S. Navy veteran who served 28 years, including 10 years as a naval aviator. Furman holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University (1998) and a master's degree from the Naval Postgraduate School (2012). In 2024, he ran unsuccessfully for Texas' 28th Congressional District, losing to incumbent Democrat Henry Cuellar.
