Jose Vega, a political organizer and self-described journalist, is running as an independent candidate for the U.S. House in New York's 15th Congressional District in 2026 after previously running in the same district in 2024. According to his campaign website, he was raised in the South Bronx and has worked with the LaRouche Movement since age 16. Federal Election Commission records list his principal campaign committee as Vega for Congress, with a Bronx mailing address. He announced his 2026 campaign at a November 2, 2025 town hall in the Crotona Park East neighborhood of the Bronx.
