Mary Jo Guinchard is a Republican from Ridgewood, N.J., who was the 2024 Republican nominee for New Jersey's 5th Congressional District. She lost the 2024 general election to Democratic incumbent Josh Gottheimer, 43% to 55%, after winning the June 2024 GOP primary, and announced a second run for the seat in April 2025. She holds a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University, was born in Dallas, Texas, and previously served as mayor of Tuxedo Park, N.Y.
