Mark Rice is a Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois's 8th Congressional District in the 2026 election. A fourth-generation Texan, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985 with a degree in economics and history. He founded and previously led an energy business in Chicago, where he has lived for nearly 40 years with his wife Ellen and their four children. He has served on the boards of the Jewish Community Center of Chicago, Camp Apache, and Project Interchange, and founded Trevian Youth Football and Trevian Small Fry Basketball on Chicago's North Shore.
