Jonathan Nez is a Democrat running for U.S. House in Arizona's 2nd Congressional District in 2026, after winning the July 21, 2026 Democratic primary. Born in Tuba City, Arizona, and raised in Shonto, he served as a delegate to the Navajo Nation Council and as Vice President of the Navajo Nation (2015–2019) before being elected President of the Navajo Nation in 2018. He lost the 2024 general election to incumbent Republican Eli Crane and is running again in 2026.
