Eric Ching (Republican) is a candidate for the U.S. House in California's 31st Congressional District in 2026, where he advanced from the June 2, 2026 primary to face incumbent Gil Cisneros in the general election. According to his campaign and Ballotpedia, he was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and holds a bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles (1995). He served on the Walnut City Council from 2012, was re-elected in 2016 and 2020, and served as Mayor of Walnut in 2016–2017, after earlier work as an IT professional. He previously ran unsuccessfully for California's 38th Congressional District in 2022 and 2024.
