Ed Markey is a Massachusetts institution, having served in the U.S. House for 37 years before winning John Kerry's Senate seat in 2013. In 2020, he survived a primary challenge from Rep. Joe Kennedy III with 55% of the vote, reaffirming his standing with Massachusetts progressives.
