April McClain Delaney is the U.S. Representative for Maryland's 6th Congressional District, first elected in 2024. A lawyer by training, she earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Communications at the Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration and as the Washington, D.C. director of Common Sense Media, a children's media nonprofit. She is married to former U.S. Representative John Delaney, who represented the same district from 2013 to 2019.
