Andy Barr (R) has represented Kentucky's 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House since January 3, 2013, when he succeeded Democrat Ben Chandler. Born in Lexington, Kentucky in 1973, he holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Before Congress, he worked as a legislative assistant to Rep. Jim Talent of Missouri and later served as deputy general counsel to Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher.
