Alexander N. Green (born September 1, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American lawyer and politician who has represented Texas as a Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2005, currently serving the 9th congressional district. He earned a J.D. in 1973 from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, co-founded the law firm Green, Wilson, Dewberry, and Fitch in 1974, and previously served as president of the Houston NAACP. Before Congress, he served as a justice of the peace for Harris County, Texas, from 1977 to 2004.
