Adrian Smith is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Nebraska's 3rd Congressional District, a seat he has held since January 3, 2007. Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and raised near Gering, he earned a B.A. from the University of Nebraska in 1993. Before his election to Congress, he served on the Gering City Council from 1994 to 1998 and in the Nebraska State Senate from 1999 to 2007. He is running for re-election to the seat in 2026.
