Abigail Spanberger is a Democratic candidate for Governor of Virginia who served in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Virginia's 7th district from 2019 to 2025, winning three consecutive elections with margins between 50% and 52%. Before her congressional career, she worked as a CIA Operations Officer and Senior Intelligence Officer from 2006 to 2017. She is running for statewide office in 2025 after representing a competitive central Virginia district that includes parts of Richmond's suburbs.
